This series of paintings explores the use of reimagined colour and random paint applications on a black background. Utilising old black and white fashion photographs as a reference I followed my curiosity to imagine what the colours could be and in some instances beginning the process by randomly smearing paint onto the surface to then overlaying a portrait in pan pastels. The stimulation of responding to the surface was exciting and I was able to play with unusual colour combinations to create these unique paintings.
